CVAC is very fortunate to have a group of highly skilled tennis professionals on staff. They get the same kick out of teaching a first-timer how to grip a racquet as they do watching a long-time student win the big match! Stop in and meet tennis professionals.

Greg Aten, USPTA Certified Professional, Tennis Director
Greg was inducted into the USPTA Midwest Divisions Hall of Fame in 2012.  At the University of Akron, he captained the team his senior year recieving All Conference All American honors. Greg has over twenty years of teaching experience receiving several awards; USPTA Ohio Pro of the year in 91 & 93, USPTA Midwest Pro of the year 95 & 97. He served as President of the Midwest USPTA & President of the Northeast Ohio Tennis Association. The USTA recognized Greg in 98 awarding him the USTA/USPTA Community Service Award. He has served on the executive board of the NEOTA.  Greg  has coached Girls Varsity at Kenston H.S. since 2001 and is a member of the Wilson Premiere Advisory Staff.





Bret_AronsonBrett Michael Aronson, USPTA Certified Professional, Assistant Director of Tennis
Brett has been teaching tennis for over two decades.  He played NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis at Cleveland State University under Coach Brian Etzkin, playing as high as #2 Singles and #1 Doubles during his tenure there.  His sophomore year he earned the team’s best individual record (11-6) while earning the highest Scholar-Athlete Awards for three straight semesters with a 4.0 G.P.A.  After graduating from The Ohio State University in 2007, Brett attended Graduate School at John Carroll University and then law school at Ohio Northern University.  He has taught at Kirtland Country Club, Cleveland Racquet Club, and Mayfield Sand Ridge Club over the past several years.  Most recently, he coached the Avon Lake High School Varsity Boys and Girls to 4th and 2nd Place Conference finishes this past year.  Brett has a wide focus and enjoys teaching all levels of juniors and adults in both private and group formats. 


W. Lovelle Crenshaw, USPTA Certified Professional 
Head Tennis Professional, Lovelle is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana. He played varsity tennis at I.U.P.U.I in Indianapolis from 1981 through 1984. Prior to joining CVAC Lovelle was Head Pro at Sycamore Hills Country Club and coached tennis at Wildwood Racquet Club. From 1995 to 1999 he was the Northern Indiana Junior Davis Cup Coach. Lovelle is a head verifier for Northeast Ohio USA Adult Tennis League and past Vice President of USPTA for Northern Ohio. Currently Lovelle is the Head Professional at the Signature of Solon during the summer months.  Lovelle has served on the Midwest USTA ratings appeals committee and is sponsored by Head Racquet Sports.

 


Bob Rowe, USPTA Certified Professional
Bob has been playing tennis since the age of six. He is a graduate of West Geauga HS where he played first singles four years and was named to The Plain Dealer first team his senior year. He has a degree in Art from the University of Akron. With over twenty years of experience on the courts - he is suited to teach and coach both juniors and adults. Bob joined CVAC in 1999  and recieved his USPTA certification. He has been the CVAC stringer since 2001. He has the knowledge to customize your racquet just the way you like it.  Bob coached the Kenston Bomber Varsity Boys team from 2001 to 2006.  He has coached several USTA junior team teams to the Midwest sectional championships.  Bob is sponsored by Babolat.
