state-of-the-art indoor tennis facility. |
The indoor
tennis complex offers more than just the newest, state of the
art indoor tennis courts in Northern Ohio. There is the fireplace
lounge with bar service too!
The nine indoor
courts - a 45,000 square foot tennis complex - went through a
complete renovation during the summer of 2000.
All courts
received a new two-inch layer of special asphalt applied by a
laser-guided paver. Next the new court surfaces received nine
coats of cushion coatings and paint.
All structural
beams and the entire ceiling were covered with a highly reflective,
fiberglass backed material. Next, 90 new 1000-watt metal halide
lights developed specially for tennis with remote, low noise ballasts
were installed. This combination doubled the foot-candles of light
on each court.
The finishing
touches were all new posts, nets, teaching screens and backdrops.
The Club's unique observation deck as well as the rest of the
facility were completely recarpeted and the deck received a new
wall.
A wide range
of lessons and league competitions are offered for ages four through
adult. State-of-the-art teaching equipment is available. Highly qualified tennis professionals are on staff to provide
both private and group instruction from the youngest players to
adults. And, the Club offers related social activities.

"Our
goal is to offer
something
for everyone, whether you are here just for fun, or to improve
your game too," Tennis Director
Greg Aten says. CVAC offers junior intraclub match play, parent-child
events, scheduled matches against other clubs, rookie-net tournaments
and USTA sanctioned tournaments. Greg encourages you to play at
least three times a week to make major progress. What a great
sport for individuals or the whole family to enjoy.
