  General Information

Greg Aten Tennis Director

Effective September 1, 1999 Greg Aten has taken on the duties of Tennis Director at the Club. "We are fortunate to have someone of this caliber join our organization" exclaims Jim Rosenberger, President of CVAC. "Greg has been a high profile professional, with many accomplishments in the northern Ohio tennis community."

Greg's career in Tennis is impressive; former collegiate All Conference / All American, USPTA Ohio Pro of the Year in 1991 and 1993 and USPTA Midwest Pro of the Year 1995 and 1997. Greg's successes and hard work are not just in tennis. In 1998 he received the USTA/USPTA National Community Service Award.

Greg was the Tennis Director at Western Reserve Racquet Club for six years where he grew the program to one of the finest in the area. Prior to that he served as Head Tennis Professional at Parkview Racquet Club. Most recently, Greg was in a direct sales capacity with Benetton Sportsystem selling Prince and Ekelton products.

Greg's responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of the Club's racquet facility, programs and staff.

"I first saw CVAC in 1992 when I was Tennis Director at Western Reserve. We had a fire and our members and Pro Staff were able to use CVAC while Western Reserve was being rebuilt. I was very impressed with the size and scope of CVAC then and am thrilled with the many improvements to the facility since that time" says Aten. "CVAC has a long and rich history in the community. I'm looking forward to growing the Club's racquet department in to the finest of its' kind in this area.

Greg, his wife Sharon and their two children have moved back to the area.

Many changes have already been implemented in the racquet program starting with drop-in play programs, a five level Junior program and clinics customized to each group's needs. Members are encouraged to play in leagues and take private lessons to fine tune specific aspects of their game. Certain programs are available to non-members on a limited one-time basis. "Our strategy in having a specific program open to non-members for one session is to let the person test drive our product" exclaims Aten. "We are confident most will want to join the Club afterward and participate in many of the programs we offer".
